Who are We and What Do We do?

We are a group of amateur astronomers who enjoy looking at the night sky, learning about the cosmos, and teaching new sky gazers about our craft.

We meet once a month to share ideas and observing experiences and to participate in a presentation on an astronomy or science topic by a great in-house or visiting speaker.

Certain of our members are Members of the Staff of the Werner Schmidt Observatory. Yes, we have our own observatory on the grounds of the Dennis Yarmouth High School in South Yarmouth, Cape Cod. Learn about this and how you can visit our observatory by browsing around in this website.

Here are the names of the current officers of the society:

Vice President: Mike Hunter

Treasurer: Vacant [Acting Treasurer: Mike Hunter]

[Support Person (not Officer):Membership Record Keeper and Webmaster: Peter Kurtz]
